Okowa boosts Delta PDP congressas state EXCO emerges

The immediate past Governor of Delta state, Senator Dr.Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa over the weekend ,witnessed the state congress of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP,at Asaba amidst excitement from thousands of delegates

The immediate past Governor of Delta state, Senator Dr.Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa over the weekend ,witnessed the state congress of the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP,at Asaba amidst excitement from thousands of delegates.

Dr. Okowa who in the lead,joined PDP delegates from his Ika North East local government area to vote,intermittently acknowledged cheers from the over 3,000 participants at the state congress,the first since he left office after serving as governor between 2015 -2023.

At the congress with Okowa were Governor Sheriff Oborevwori,his Deputy,Sir Monday Onyeme,Senator Ned Nwoko,Senator James Manager and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor among other party stalwarts.

After accreditation by national officials of the party, the former governor voted at about 1.35pm to bolster the confidence of the delegates in internal democracy and the collective strength of the PDP.He returned briskly to his seat to wait for the outcome.

Chief Solomon Arenyeka was elected State PDP Chairman,Mr. Moses Iduh Deputy Chairman,Engr. Daniel Ossai,Vice Chairman, Delta North Senatorial District,Hon. Anthony Akpomiemie (Vice Chairman, Delta Central,Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba (Vice Chairman, Delta South.

Other newly elected members of the state working committee were Chief Isaac Itebu,Secretary,Chief Chibuzor Uwajei,State Treasurer,Hon. Fidelis Adjogbe,Financial Secretary,Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu Publicity Secretary,Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor,Organizing Secretary,Barr. Hessington Okolo,State Legal Adviser,Chief Mrs. Dora Sakpaide,State Woman Leader,Barr. Francis Okolie,State Youth Leader and Pastor Alex Akemotubo,State Auditor.
