Oloja of Lagos to honour150 years of Oba Kosoko’s passing
As part of efforts to immortalise former Oloja of Lagos, Oba Kosoko 1, 150 years after his death, the Kosoko dynasty has concluded arrangement to celebrate the life and times of the late monarch in April.
King Kosoko, a member of the Ologun Kutere Lagos royal family, who reigned as Oba of Lagos from 1845 to 1851, died on April 15, 1872 and was buried April 25 of same year.
At a pre-event briefing in his palace, the new Oloja-elect, Prince Tiamiyu Abiola Olojo Kosoko, who just clocked one year after his emergence, said the celebration would also avail the people opportunity to understand the role the late monarch played during his lifetime and the legacy he left behind.
Tagged: “King Kosoko: The Reminiscence,” the monarch said the celebration would be used to unveil the King Kosoko Memorial Museum, where his relics are to be displayed.
