In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Africa’s growing blockchain and fintech ecosystem, Adeniyi Olowoporoku, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ezyswap Solutions Limited, has been named the 2023 Blockchain Product Innovator of the Year by the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN).
The award was presented at the 2023 Digital Asset Summit held in Lagos on 6–7 September 2023. It is given annually to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation in blockchain product development while advancing the industry in Nigeria and across the African continent.
Championing intelligent blockchain solutions
Adeniyi has earned a reputation as a pioneer in AI-powered blockchain systems designed to serve Africa’s underserved communities. At the helm of Ezyswap, he has built intelligent tools that combine cryptocurrency access, real-time market analytics, and gamified financial education. These solutions are intentionally designed to simplify complex technologies and make them accessible through mobile-first platforms.
His work goes beyond technology; it is fundamentally transformational. By blending artificial intelligence with decentralised finance infrastructure, Adeniyi is helping everyday users across Africa to participate more actively in digital finance, particularly in areas such as crypto trading, cross-border payments, and financial literacy.
Ezyswap’s innovation has been widely recognised for introducing AI-driven features that assist users with market predictions, risk management, and instant crypto remittance. The platform translates advanced systems into practical tools tailored for real users in real economies, especially those who have historically been excluded from traditional financial services.
Beyond the platform: Building industry standards
While Ezyswap continues to draw praise for its user-centred design and technical excellence, Adeniyi’s influence also extends into industry leadership. He has remained a dedicated member of SiBAN, contributing to public engagement efforts, regulatory discussions, and compliance frameworks aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s blockchain space.
Adeniyi was instrumental in the development of SiBAN’s Compliance and Recognition Initiative, which introduced a formal “Badge of Recognition” to promote transparency and ethical practices among blockchain projects. His efforts have helped define industry standards that protect users while promoting credibility in the fast-growing sector.
“Innovation only becomes meaningful when it is inclusive,” he remarked. “Our mission has always been focused on building tools that inform, empower, and engage everyday Africans in the digital future of finance.”
Advocacy, education, and international impact
Adeniyi is also a committed advocate for financial inclusion and digital literacy. Through workshops, virtual sessions, and community outreach across Nigeria and beyond, he has played a central role in breaking down complex blockchain concepts for young people, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
He has been a visible voice at international blockchain events, representing Nigeria and forging connections between African developers and global technology stakeholders. His advocacy continues to highlight the continent’s innovation potential while encouraging knowledge sharing and investment.
In 2021, Adeniyi received the Emerging Blockchain Impact Leader Award, which recognised his pioneering efforts to promote blockchain access and financial literacy through gamified platforms. His latest recognition as Blockchain Product Innovator reaffirms his commitment to building inclusive technologies and shaping the future of finance in Africa.
