Osun State Government has denied media reports claiming that some workers and students staged a protest against alleged anti-people policies of the Rauf Aregbesola administration.

A statement by the Director, Bureau of Communication and Strategy, Mr Semiu Okanlawon said there was no iota of truth in the report saying the writer neither stated the venue of the protest, nor the organisers and those who spoke at the phantom protest.

The statement said workers in State and the government have no problems whatsoever, pointing out “The whole world witnessed the end of government/labour disagreement over delay in salary when a memorandum of understanding was signed two weeks ago”

It added, “Also, students of tertiary institutions have monitored the negotiations with their lecturers and are aware that a truce is near.

“Therefore, there couldn’t have been any reason for protests either by students or workers”.
