Osun government issues red alert amid monkeypox outbreak

Osun State Government on Wednesday issued a red alert following the confirmation of mpox cases in several states.

The warning was made in a video message via the state’s official X, formerly Twitter handle.

It urged residents to remain vigilant and prioritise their safety.

In the message, the government provided essential information about the viral disease, stressing the importance of awareness and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the infection within the state.

The video message reads, “Osun State Government issues red alert against the outbreak of MONKEYPOX (M-Pox).

“Things you need to know: Symptoms and causative agents of the disease.

“Awareness and Sensitisation, Prevention and Treatment. Stay alert! Stay safe!!”
