Otti invites traders to relocate to Abia State

• Pledges Adequate Security, Business-Friendly Environment
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on traders and other business owners across the country to relocate to his state, saying that the state would provide the business-friendly environment they need to achieve their set targets.
Otti, who also said that the state is developing critical infrastructure to facilitate easy access to markets and other areas of trade, assured businesses willing to relocate to the state of the security of their investments.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Trade, Commerce and Industry, Nwaka Irem, Otti assured leaders and traders from Alaba International, Oyingbo, Ladipo and United Market Leaders and Traders Association of Nigeria of adequate security measures, a conducive environment to invest and do business in the state.
He expressed his administration’s readiness to create physical infrastructural development and facilities that will serve as a one-stop business hub for investors and traders.
The governor also emphasised his government’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for businesses, highlighting initiatives such as road construction, maintenance, security and the elimination of double taxation to ease the process of doing business.
On the security concerns raised by the businessmen, Otti said his administration is taking security seriously and has put measures in place to ensure safety.
At the meeting held at markets union offices at Alaba International and co-chaired by the President General, Alaba International Markets Amalgamated Council of Sections, Dr. Amajuoyi Camilus Nnamdi; chairman, General Electrical Dealers Association, Pastor Peter Ubaezike; President General of United Market Leaders and Traders Association of Nigeria, Charles Friday Obih and a developer/investors representative, Chima Okereke, Otti intimated the businessmen of plans to build a smart warehouse and shop project in Aba, inviting traders to participate in the projects. He said the engagements reflect a broader strategy to attract investments, create jobs and revitalise Abia’s economic landscape.
Among stakeholders at the meeting was the promoter of Aba Commercial Smart City, Dr. Osita Offor (De Ultimate Commander), who thanked Otti for his strides in industrialising Abia State.
Offor also commended the traders for looking towards investing in the South East and invited the traders to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the smart warehouse and shop project in Aba.
