The Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Sharafadeen Alli, on Thursday, felicitated with Chief Bisi Akande, a former Governor of Osun State and first National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on the occasion of his 86th birthday.

Alli, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, described Chief Akande as a true Awoist and an exemplary leader who has consistently championed the ideals of good governance as well as democratic values.

“Chief Bisi Akande’s remarkable contributions to the socio-political development of Nigeria, particularly his visionary leadership as Governor of Osun State,” he said.

“His pivotal role in the formation and success of the APC remains a reference point for progressive politics.”

He lauded Chief Akande’s unwavering commitment to the principles of transparency, accountability, and selfless service.

The lawmaker said that Chief Akande’s virtues have earned him the respect and admiration of all, both within and outside the political arena.

“As we celebrate Baba Akande’s 86th birthday, I join countless others in thanking God for his life and the indelible legacy he continues to build,” he said.

“May Almighty Allah grant him good health, long life, and continued wisdom to serve humanity.”
