PDP Presidential Campaign Council appoints Dele Momodu, others as directors

The Campaign Organisation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has appointed former presidential aspirant and the publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, as Director of the campaign, overseeing Strategic Communications.

In a news release signed by the Campaign Organisation’s Director-General and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, 16 others were also appointed as directors or deputy directors of various directorates of the PDP’s National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC).

They are Rt. Hon. Austin Opara (Director, Training), Hon. Umar M. Bature (Director, Field Operations), Hon. Abdullahi Hussaini MaiBasira (Director, Finance), Brig-Gen. Koko Essien, Rtd (Director, Security & Intelligence), Dr. Mrs. Baraka Sani (Director, Support Group), Ibrahim Bashir (Director, Admin), Kamaldeen Ajibade (Director, Legal Affairs), and Nurudeen Taoheed Ademola (Director, Technical).

Others are Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher (Director, Election Management), Dr. Sam Amadi (Director, Research), Mrs. Modupeola Sanyaolu (Director, Monitoring & Evaluation), Ambassador Ahmed Magaji (Director, International Affairs), Osita Chidoka (Director, Voter Intelligence & Strategy), Prof. Isah Odidi (Director, Diaspora Group), Rt. Hon. Tolford Ongolo (Deputy Director, Election Management – South), and Hon. Chile Igbawua (Deputy Director, Election Management – North).

The release stated that “the Directors are to please contact the DDG, Administration, Prof. Adewale Oladipo for further details.”

It added: “It is believed that your commitment to the overall success of the campaign will justify the confidence reposed in you by the leadership of our party.”

The appointments came on a day when the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, appointed Kola Ologbondiyan as his fourth spokesperson for the 2023 presidential campaign.

Ologbondiyan, the immediate past National Publicity Secretary of the PDP and current member of the National Executive Committee of the party, is expected to project Atiku‘s unique selling points and keep the electorate updated about the goings on in the campaign.
