The Nigeria Police Academy, (POLAC), Kano cautioned cadets against drug abuse, cultism, and other social vices on campus, and insisted anyone found culpable would face instant dismissal.
The academy warned the cadets to shun examination malpractice, and offenses prohibited under the “Code of Conduct” expected to guide their daily activities to avoid losing their hard-earned admission.
Commandant of the Academy, Assistant Inspector of Police, AIG Patrick Adedeji Atayero, said that apart from the acts captured in the Code of Conduct, other forms of deviant behaviors will not be tolerated, and added that rules and regulations must be adhered to.
The Commandant gave the warning on Thursday during the matriculation of 11th Regular Course Cadets (RC 11) recently admitted into the academy.
Atayero posited that though the journey toward gaining administration was rough, he disclosed that it would be more embarrassing to the cadets and their parents to lose the opportunity on the heel of bad behaviors.
“Please, save yourself and your parents and guardians, the embarrassment and pains of regret, for if you engage in any of these the repercussions are clear, and no one will listen to any entreaties or pleas for mercy. Avoid leaving the school without permission, scaling the Academy fence, or engaging in examination malpractice. Anyone caught will be shown the way out,” he said.
Earlier, the registrar of the academy, Dr. Ekpere F. Ezeugwu, administered the matriculation oath to the 819 young cadets before they were officially admitted to membership of the Nigeria Police Academy.
The new cadets were admitted into the faculties of Humanities, Law, Science, and Social and Management Science.
