Kano state police command has arrested three middle age persons suspected to be among the perpetrators protest against the Emir of Kano Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero recently at public event near the emir’s palace.

Those apprehended include Abdulrazak Usman Sarki and Fatihu Muktar Faruk. Although, the police has identified six suspects earlier captured through video footage deployed at the scene of the protest, the command hinted that tactical manhunt has been launched to unravel others and their sponsors.

Commissioner of Police in the state , CP Mohammad Usaini Gumel had confirmed the irritant protest during the re-Commissioning of Hasiya Bayero Pediatrics Hospital, near the emir’s palace where “some yet to be identified intruders stormed the venue chanting ‘New Governor, New Emir’.
According to the police boss, the ugly development ensued at the instance of the Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf and the emir himself when the ‘miscreants’, after invaded the venue invoked the provocative slogans that sparked security uncertainty around the Emirate Council and particularly His Highness, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero and other invited dignitaries.
“On receipt of the report of this embarrassing situation, I the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command dispatched Police Tactical Units of the command to identify and arrest the perpetrators including their sponsors.

“Investigation supported by the use of Technical Equipment so far led to the arrest of three suspects. They are; Abdulrazak Usman Sarki, ‘m’, 36 years old of Disu Quarters, Gwale LGA, Fatihu Muktar Faruk, ‘m’, 35 years old of Emir’s Palace Kano and Usman Baba Attah, ’m’, 25 years old of Kabara Quarters, Kano Municipal, LGA. Meanwhile, discrete investigation is progressing with view to apprehend other accomplices”.

In a release by the command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Kiyawa, the CP warned that police will not tolerate attempt by any person regardless of their status to derogate the sacred traditional Institutions in Kano. He insisted that attempt to sponsor in any manner to ridicule the monarch will be met with equal resistance.

Furthermore, the Police said it will not in any way relent in its commitment to ensuring security, safety, peace and stability being put in place for the good people of the State.
