
Police sources say Ismaila confessed to have robbed one Shuaibu Mohammed in Alaba Rago area of the state, and kept his gun with his friend in Ogun State.
His confession led to the arrest of his accomplice, 36-year-old Salisu Abubakar, who was in charge of selling stolen property.
Also, one Peter Divine was arrested for stealing a bank customer’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card in the Ejigbo area of the state.
A Chief Security Officer (CSO) of a bank in Ejigbo, had reported that a customer by name Ijeoma came to the bank to use the ATM and when she was experiencing difficulty, Divine, in pretence of offering help, swapped her card after having knowledge of the woman’s pin, and ran away.
However, police officers attached to the bank apprehended him and took him to the station.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said it happened on September 14, adding that 10 ATM cards and a Point of Sale (POS) device were discovered from the suspect.
He said the investigation was ongoing.
“This is the case of people not being able to know how to use an ATM and ask someone to help them and while handling back the card, they change it and give the people another one, and go ahead on withdrawing spree,” he added.
