Police arrest four producers of fake alcoholic drinks in Lagos
The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested four producers of fake alcoholic drinks.
Lagos Police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed their arrest on Thursday after the officers of Isokoko Division raided a house in the Agege area of the state.
Hundeyin added that the Police officers also seized fake products and materials while an investigation was ongoing.
“Officers of Isokoko Division, acting on credible information, raided a house in Agege where fake alcoholic drinks were being produced,” Hundeyin said on X.
“The police arrested four people behind the illegal distillery, and recovered fake drinks, empty bottles and labels of different brands. Investigation is ongoing.”
In another development, Hundeyin confirmed that the Lagos State Police Command impounded 257 motorcycles at Ikorodu Roundabout, Ogolonto, and Agege.
The Police spokesman said this was achieved with support from CSP Yinka Egbeyemi-led Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Tayo Akerele-led Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and the Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC).
