Police arrest man for raping minor in Adamawa
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 22-year-old man, identified as Luka James, for the offences of criminal conspiracy abduction and rape of a minor.
Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Ngurore, in a statement, said disclosed that the suspect hails from Gwalantabal Village in Song Local Government Area.
He was arrested in Michicka following a report made to the police by Yohanna Begie, a resident of Nkafa Village.
Ngurore said the victim was on her way to school when the suspect conspired with one Emmanuel, who is currently on the run, abducted her into a nearby bush, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
He said the victim was found unconscious at the scene and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.
According to Ngurore, the Commissioner of Police, CP Damkombo Morris, expressed worry over the incident and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the investigation and ensure justice.
He said the CP advised members of the public, especially parents, to closely monitor their wards and provide timely information to the police.
