Dr. Princess Oghene has been elected as the new Public Relations Secretary of the United States Government Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria (USGEAAN).
Her election was confirmed following an internal process by the association, which comprises Nigerian professionals who have participated in U.S. government exchange programmes. USGEAAN plays a role in promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between Nigeria and the United States.
Oghene, speaking through her media aide, Bolatito Adebola, said the new role offers an opportunity to strengthen the association’s outreach. “This victory is not just mine. It’s a step forward for USGEAAN in strengthening our ties with the US and amplifying the voice of the Nigerian community abroad,” she said.
She holds an MBA from the Business School Netherlands and has completed executive education programmes at Harvard Business School and the London College of Fashion. Her background includes work in business strategy, education, and sustainable fashion.
Addressing her priorities, Oghene said her focus will be on visibility and strategic engagement. “Our mission is clear: elevate Nigerian voices and ensure they are heard across the corridors of power in the US. We’re not just talking about change—we’re engineering it,” she stated.
Oghene also stressed the importance of narrative-building in her approach to the position. “Our strength lies in our proven ability to tell stories that matter and to communicate with credibility,” she said.
She is expected to lead efforts that will enhance the association’s public image and improve communication with stakeholders in both Nigeria and the United States.
