Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, Senior Prophet of Christ MercyLand Ministry, has called on wealthy pastors to contribute more to the welfare of Nigerians. He also addressed recent media reports alleging misuse of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) name in connection with spiritual items used by his church.

Fufeyin, through his church’s media channel, MercyLand Television Deliverance Ministry, issued a statement refuting claims from a national daily suggesting that the church used NAFDAC’s name deceitfully.

The statement, signed by Sophia Lloyd, emphasized that the church operates within the law and respects NAFDAC regulations.

The church asserts that it uses spiritual items as part of its religious practices and has not engaged in deceptive practices regarding these items. The statement also criticized the media report for alleging that NAFDAC was investigating the church’s use of its name, which the church denies.

Fufeyin’s statement further clarified that the only pending petition against the church is from Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, who the church has sued in the FCT High Court for various allegations. The church received a letter from NAFDAC’s Asaba office inviting the church to discuss its spiritual items, but had limited time to respond.

The church also claimed that the complainant had forged receipts to file a complaint with NAFDAC and noted that an ongoing police investigation supports this claim.

The statement concluded by reiterating the church’s commitment to legal and ethical practices, noting that they have yet to receive any feedback from NAFDAC on the matter.
