The Supreme Head, Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Prophet Samuel Ade Alao, stated on Tuesday that the church is committed to righteousness. He emphasised that anyone claiming to be a member or leader of the church who engages in fetish, unrighteous, and unbiblical activities is not part of Cherubim and Seraphim and should be reported to the church for necessary action.
Speaking at the thanksgiving ceremony to conclude the Centenary Celebration of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church, Alao stated that he feels not only elated and humbled to be leading the church at this moment, but also grateful to God Almighty.
“It is a grace that all of us are part of this programme. It is a grace that in my own life, things are changing. And the C&S has become an octopus,” he said.
Alao said that the celebration of the Centenary of the church, which is a positive development, will reflect positively on Nigeria.
“You begin to see a change in this country from this month. Bad government will also come to an end. God will greet all our leaders from the federal to the state level. If they succeed, we succeed. If they fail, we fail. I pray that they will succeed and things will change for the better,” he said.
He was optimistic about a better future for the church. “Now, we have laid a foundation. And as Paul said, those who come after us should build on it. The future of C&S is very bright. People who see us as a challenge will come and embrace it. Now, they are doing what we were doing. They see visions. They speak in tongues. They wear white, which is, among other things, synonymous with the church,” he said.
Also, His Eminence Reuben Olorunfemi Bashorun, said the church celebrating 100 years means a lot to him, who has been a Cherubim and Seraphim since 1959.
“I want to appeal to all those who have left the fold or are aggrieved and not part of the Unification to come back because the fold went asleep but has woken up by many people in 1986 with the name Unification,” he said.
On his part, the Secretary General of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Senior Apostle Tayo Ajose, stated that his projections for the church are for it to lead in all works of evangelism and prayer. “It is to lead in winning souls for Christ and also to disabuse the minds of those who have wrong impressions about the church,” he said.
Similarly, the Lagos State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, Cornelius Ojelabi, was optimistic that the church will continue to march on, just as he called for prayers for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other leaders, as their success will be to the benefit of the people.
At the thanksgiving service, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, represented by Bola Obasanjo; the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi and Erelu Abiola Dosunmu, all implored the church to remain steadfast in promoting righteousness.
Also at the ceremony were the Chairperson, Centenary Anniversary Committee, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi; Secretary of the anniversary committee, Elder AP Akin Owolabi and the Chairman, National Executive Council, C&S, His Grace Dr. S. Adeoye, among others.
