Sanusi tasks Christian organisations, others on sponsorship of BSN Bible competition

The competition with the theme: “Jesus The Life Giver”, was organised by the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) at Igbobi College, Yaba, Lagos.

The two representatives of the school, Williams Ugochukwu and Samuel Chioma, in addition to the trophy for their school, each went home with cash prize of N80,000, medal, RSV Bible, school bag, certificate and six customised 40 leaves exercise books.

Archdeacon Dennis Foundation International Boys Secondary School (ADFIBSS), Egbu, Imo State, came second with the school given a trophy while the two representatives, each went home with cash prize of N60,000, medal, RSV Bible, school bag, certificate and six customised 40 leaves exercise books.

The third position went to Baptist Model High School, Eruwa, Oyo State with a trophy while each of the two school’s representatives went home with a cash prize of N40,000, medal, RSV Bible, school bag, certificate and six customised 40 leaves exercise books.

The General Secretary, BSN, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, said eight zones participated in the competition, which had four stages beginning from the auxiliary, area, zone and the national, the grand finale.

Sanusi called on Christian organisations, Christian chief executive officers and churches to partner with BSN with a view to sponsoring the competition to encourage participants.

“This competition is premised on engaging the youth to get them more conversant with the Word of God that is bedeviled these days with a lot of distractions ranging from social media and others.

“Therefore, this competition with the end result of making the youth live a godly life, needs to be sponsored with winners going home with not less than one million naira or sponsorship to universities which will go a long way to encouraging them and bring in more participants.

“The BSN over the years accommodate students and their leaders for two days and apart from taking care of them, pay their transport fares in addition to all the gifts to encourage them,” he said.

Ugochukwu on behalf of his partner and participating schools, appreciated BSN for creating the platform aimed at improving their knowledge in the Word of God to impact positively in their future.
