Security chiefs deepen security ahead of Tinubu’s visit to Anambra

• State agog as streets, roads, parks wear new look

Heads of security agencies in Anambra State have taken stringent security measures to maintain peace and order during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the state today.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Awka, adding that the measures reflect the commitment of the state’s security architecture to guarantee the safety of the visiting President, dignitaries, and citizens in the state.

The Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration, which clocked three years on March 17, initiated and completed some projects, including the Solution Fun City, Anambra Country Club, new Government House, new Government Lodge, new Presidential Lodge and Emeka Anyaoku Centre, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), Awka.

The statement said: “The Anambra State security chiefs convenedtoday in a closed-door meeting to strengthen security arrangements ahead of the scheduled visit of the President to the state today.

“The high-level meeting, which lasted for five hours, featured detailed briefings from heads of various security agencies. The deliberations focused on reviewing current security intelligence, assessing threat levels, and implementing fortified security measures within the capital city and across strategic locations.”

According to Ikenga, the key areas of focus for the security agencies included joint operational deployment, coordinated patrols, and surveillance strategies.

“Additionally, the session addressed operational planning, inter-agency coordination, and contingency preparedness.

“Also, ensuring the development of robust response strategies for various possible scenarios during the presidential visit,” he said, while also sustaining peace and stability across the state.

MEANWHILE, there is jubilation across the state, especially in Awka, where the environment has taken a new look, following massive decorations, like welcome inscriptions dotting the roads: “Mr President, Ndi Anambra loves you,” “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, your voice matters, join the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) movement tomorrow,” “Asiwaju Nnoo, Anambra welcomes you with open arms.”

Also decorated are the newly built Solution Bus Terminal at Aroma, Solution WI-FI Centre etc, while the roads, streets and parks have been swept clean, as workers were seen yesterday mounting flags, flowers and repairing or replacing damaged street lights.

Also, groups of youths and women wearing dresses of different colours were seen at some locations singing or dancing in anticipation of the President’s tour of important places in the state.

However, reactions have trailed Tinubu’s visit, either praising him and the governor or criticising the visit.
