The lawmaker representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, has appealed to the Federal Government for more security reinforcement in communities within Southern Kaduna.

He said an improved security presence in the area would arrest insecurity.

Katung who made the appeal during a church service at the Fountain of Life Baptist Church, Kafanchan said, “my best prayer wish is that banditry in southern Kaduna come to a stop.”

The lawmaker, however, assured the people that security agencies were working to address the issue.

“We are working assiduously in collaboration with all security agencies and government towards ending banditry in Southern Kaduna, we will not rest until our people are able to sleep with their two eyes closed,” he said.

The lawmaker also warned youths against involvement in criminal activities, saying those involved will be apprehended and made to face the wrath of the law.

He solicited prayers and support from the people, emphasizing that no leader can succeed without the backing of his citizens.

Earlier, the Baptist Conference President of Southern Kaduna, Dr. Donald Arak, commended the Senator for his people-oriented leadership, which prioritizes long-term development over personal gains.

“We are happy with your kind of leadership, which focuses on lasting legacies rather than the outdated practice of distributing money without tangible projects,” Arak said.
