Proprietor and Chief Executive Officer of Blooming Greens School, Mrs. Susan Babatunde-Yamah has stressed the need for schools to deepen technology inclusion in the curriculum, to meet up with the demands of 21st century system.

According to her, this would allow instructors to meet the individual needs and interests of students and allow them to connect.

Babatunde-Yamah spoke at a programme, organised by Edumark, tagged Understanding and unlocking opportunities in the education market, held in Lagos.

She stated that there are lots of opportunities in the education sector that school owners, investors, Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and the government could benefit from, given its huge resources.

The educationist, therefore, urged the government to generate policies to ensure that schools are technology compliant, while stressing the significance of the Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) for students, school owners and teachers. She said: “We have to look at the trend. The dynamics of the 21st century learning environments should be applied to meet the need of schools for the students to compare and compete favorably anywhere in the world.

“Also, health is wealth, therefore, HMO should be introduced in schools for staff, students and school owners. This will create an opportunity for insurance companies to be engaged and generate revenues and as the health of the people is being taken care of.”

She urged parents to work in unison with the school authority and partner with them in order to groom a total child.

“It’s important that schools and parents work together at all times. Educators are meant to be intentional and ensure that the learning environment is suitable for its purpose. They must ensure that the environment is safe and secure for the child. Educators must continue to learn, relearn and unlearn, and become lifelong learners in the environment, in order to foster accelerated growth around the children and even school.”

Founder, Edumark, Yinka Ogunde stressed the need for technology, infrastructure and teacher development in the education sector.
