Following the expiration of the tenure of the former Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Taraba state Specialist Hospital, Dr. Rimande Joel, a new CMD, Dr. Alex Maiangwa, has been appointed.

Speaking yesterday at the handover ceremony, which took place at the multipurpose hall of the hospital located in Jalingo, the outgoing CMD admonished the hospital staff to extend support to the new CMD to enable him catapult the hospital to greater heights.

Glad that his successor emerged from the hospital and not” a strange fellow” he said, “we are glad that it is a loyal colleague who has worked assiduously for this hospital that has been appointed as CMD.”

Citing the availability of state of the art equipment which according to him, has made the hospital one of the best in the region, he said he is optimistic the new CMD would work to actualize the dreams of the founding fathers of the institution.

Elated, the new CMD vowed not to misuse the opportunity reposed on him by the hospital management and state government, making known the readiness of the hospital management under his leadership to move the hospital forward.
