The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Sunday said suspected terrorists attacked border facilities at the Kangiwa Border in the Kangiwa Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
In a statement, NIS Public Relations Officer, K.T Udo, said the incident happened on Friday, January 20, 2025, at about 1920 hours.
The attack led to the death of a local watchman and three contractors but no immigration officer was killed.
Udo said the border facilities suffered substantial damages as a result of the attack.
“Our heartfelt condolences goes out to the families of the deceased. The Service is actively working alongside other sister security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for these heinous acts and bring them to justice,” he said.
