The Guardian relaunches Guardian Angels

The Guardian has announced the official relaunch of Guardian Angels, its publication dedicated to advocacy, social impact, philanthropy, social entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility (CSR) narratives.

It will debut this weekend, July 5-6, 2025, in the LIFE Magazine section.

Guardian Angels is more than a publication; it is an editorial movement for change. A standalone platform. It is a very special edition away from the master title – deliberately so, because it will celebrate the courageous efforts of individuals, organisations and companies, who truly embody the spirit of giving back and making an impact.

In a society where many stories of altruism and impact often go untold, this special title, powered by The Guardian Nigeria, seeks to shine a light on those who make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.

Chief Strategy Officer (Global) at The Guardian, Anita Athena Ibru, created this title back in 2019, leveraging the brand to amplify her women’s events – both in Nigeria and abroad. However, there’s much more to cover editorially. She emphasised the critical importance of storytelling in creating awareness and inspiring action.

“I continue to be inclined to argue that angels dare to go where others fear, especially when coming to the rescue of others.

“We will therefore continue to feature stories that may otherwise be left untold. Guardian Angels aims to partner with companies that are committed to sharing their CSR stories and their contributions to society and the world at large, so that more beneficiaries and consumers can have access to this valuable information, and be inspired by it.”

Readers of The Guardian’s LIFE Magazine, in addition to the established offerings, can now also expect a thoughtfully curated mix of profiles, research pieces and first-person narratives more frequently. Each feature will highlight innovative CSR initiatives, transformative philanthropy, and impactful advocacy efforts that reflect the best of humanity’s resilience and compassion. After all, these are also life stories.

With its strategic return, Guardian Angels reinforces The Guardian’s mission to inform, educate, and inspire, while at the same time creating a bridge between changemakers and the communities they serve. This revival also underscores The Guardian’s commitment to staying at the forefront of storytelling that fosters societal growth and empowerment.
