The Minister for Youth Development, Hon. Comrade Wisdom Olawande has assured of youths inclusiveness in the governance of the country under the President Bola Tinubu government.
At a strategic meeting held at the weekend in Abuja, the minister emphasized the importance of unity among youth leaders under the “Country First” mantra.
The Minister who reconciled members of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of All Political Parties in Nigeria (FNYLPPN) underscored the necessity of a unified front ahead of the upcoming youth conference.
The meeting, focused on advancing youth participation in governance, saw the adoption of key resolutions aimed at empowering Nigerian youths and fostering their inclusion in national decision-making processes.
He described the initiative as a critical component of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing its potential to empower youths and prioritize their voices in governance.
A major outcome of the reconciliation effort was the adoption of a co-chairmanship structure to lead the forum.
This inclusive arrangement saw Chinazam Ike (ADP) and Comrade Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu (APGA), both from the South East, assume joint leadership roles, along with other executive positions. This decision aligns with the rotational principle that places leadership in the South East.
The forum, now comprising representatives from 19 political parties, pledged to mobilise youth participation at constituency levels nationwide, ensuring grassroots involvement in national dialogue.
This decentralized approach aims to amplify the voices of young Nigerians and foster comprehensive representation in governance initiatives.
Participants at the meeting commended the minister for his commitment to unifying the forum and creating avenues for youth empowerment.
The forum leaders said they are committed to supporting the minister’s vision of building a Nigeria where youths are empowered to excel across all sectors.
