President Bola Tinubu on Saturday made a firm commitment that his administration will complete the Eastern Rail line connecting Port Harcourt to Maiduguri.

The Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has hailed President Bola Tinubu’s decision to remove fuel subsidy and his implementation of other economic policies.

Mbah gave the commendation on Saturday when he welcomed Tinubu to Enugu to inaugurate a number of projects executed by his administration.

According to Mbah, the infrastructural developments in Enugu under his watch became possible because of Tinubu’s bold initiatives that freed up funds for the state.

“The courageous pronouncements you made to free up funds for development, the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of the foreign exchange, and several social interventions that your government continues to provide for the people of this country.

“We are now essentially, with those funds freed, able to fully complete these projects. And it’s not just physical infrastructure; social and digital infrastructure are going on,” Mbah said.

Some of the projects inaugurated by the President included 30 completed Enugu Smart Green Schools out of 260 under construction, 60 equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres across 260 wards, the Enugu International Conference Centre, a hub for global engagement, 90 newly completed urban roads, and a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre with 150 AI-embedded patrol vehicles for enhanced security.
