It was a moment of grief, agony and pains as colleagues, friends, well-wishers and family members of the deceased gathered at the university’s premises in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, to pay him their last respect.
Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Governing Council of the university, Samuel Olatunji, said the management of the institution organised the Senate meeting to honour its pioneer VC who has contributed immensely to the growth of the university community.
He said when the university started, it had only 13 students but through the efforts of the late VC, the institution today has thousands of students.
The Acting VC, Prof. Clement Kolawale, said the deceased came with anointed hands, saw and conquered, saying that the university community, lecturers and students would miss his quality leadership.
He prayed that God Almighty would grant the university community the heart to bear the loss.
