UAE creates ministries for happiness and tolerance
The government of the United Arab Emirates, UAE, has announced the creation of ministries of happiness and tolerance. Each of the ministries will be headed by a minister of state.
According to the announcement made by the premier of the Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum, who is also the Emir of Dubai, “Minister for Happiness” was created to ensure the government’s policies are aligned to create social good and satisfaction among the country’s citizens.

The minister of state for tolerance has the primary duty of promoting tolerance among the citizenry as a fundamental value.

The creation of the two new ministries was a part of the largest structural argest structural change in the government. The new government will have less ministries, with more ministers able to manage changing and dynamic strategic portfolios, Al Makhtoum said in one tweet.
UAE is currently hosting World Government Summit. The Emirate is a federation composed of seven autonomously ruled emirates. The ruler of oil-rich Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, serves as the country’s president.
