Vigilantes kill FUDMA student as colleagues protest
A 400-level student of the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA), in Katsina State, Sa’id Abdulkadir was killed by vigilantes Sunday night.
Abdulkadir, who is an undergraduate in the Department of Agriculture, was shot dead while on a commercial motorcycle.
It was learnt that the vigilantes at a checking point ordered the commercial motorcyclist to stop, but he refused to heed their command. The vigilantes reportedly fired several shots at the motorcyclist which hit the student.

The motorcyclist was also said to have sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, scores of students of the institution are protesting the killing of their colleague.
The students blocked a major highway linking Dutsinma within the Katsina metropolitan area and set tires on fire while chanting anti-security agency slogans.
