Yari, Yuguda mourn Ooni of Ife, Emir of Misau, deputy governor

FORMER Governor of Bauchi State, Malam Isa Yuguda, has condoled with the immediate and extended families of the late Emir of Misau, Alhaji Muhammadu Manga III, describing his death as a monumental loss to not only his family and Bauchi State but to the entire country.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Deacon Ishola Michael Adeyemi, Yuguda also condoled with the government and people of Bauchi State over the Emir of Misau’s death.

He said the wise counsel of the royal father would be greatly missed, particularly now that such is most required because, according to him, words of wisdom are always got from people like him.

In the same vein, the former governor condoled with the people and government of Borno State over the death of the state deputy governor, Alhaji Zannah Umaru Mustapha, describing the death as most tragic and sudden considering that he was at his prime and died in active service.

While sympathising with the Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, over the loss, Yuguda urged him to take it as an act of Allah as every mortal must taste death at the appointed time and prayed Allah to give his immediate and extended families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

In another development, Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Governor Abdullaziz Yari of Zamfara State, has mourned the death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II and the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Mustapha, describing the death of the foremost Yoruba monarch and the deputy governor as a great loss to the nation.

Reacting to the death of Oba Sijuwade, the governor in a statement by his Media Consultant, Mr. Christian Ogodo and made available to newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said the legacies of the late traditional ruler to the development of the Yoruba race and Nigeria will remain indelible in the annals of Nigerian history.

He said the late Ooni was not only a distinguished monarch of the Yoruba, but a nationalist and business mogul par excellence.

On the late Borno Deputy Governor, the NGF chairman said his death was a rude shock to the nation, especially at this time when all efforts are geared towards ending the terrorist insurgency in the North-East region of the nation.

“Alhaji Zannah Mustapha died at a time when his services were most needed by the people and government of Borno State and Nigeria,” he said.

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the late deputy governor and charged the family and the government, and people of Borno State to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
