Yinka Ash moves to produce next generation of African creatives
Cognisant of the harsh economic realties, dilapidated infrastructure, among others, Lagos-born designer, Yinka Ash, has launched the second edition of his ‘Yinka Ash ART (YAART) Incubation Programme’ to hone skills of young minds in a move to produce the next generation of African creatives.
The innovator and Creative Director of successful brands like Ashluxe, Ashluxury and Vertical Rave is seeking to further inspire youths via the project following the successful outing of the inaugural version on May 16 this year at Caleb University in Imota, Lagos State.
In a statement, he said the programme is to provide comprehensive training to youngsters on principles of creativity and assisting them in navigating their paths during and after their academic journeys.
Stating that the initiave is poised for for future expansion and impact, the promoter Ash explained: “The YAART Incubation Programme comprises a series of workshops and seminars, including the ABCs of brand building, conducted by various expert mentors, who will play a crucial role in shaping the students’ academic and professional growth. The programme also provides a platform for young artists to network with like-minded individuals and learn industry secrets to build their brands and establish themselves within the creative space.
“During the mentorship progamme, students will be invited to submit project proposals and showcase their innovative ideas and creativity. The most promising project will be selected for cash grant, thus enabling them to bring their vision to life.”
The promoter continued: “The long-term goal of this programme is to expand its reach to various schools across Nigeria. By branching out, the programme aims to empower more students and provide them with the necessary tools and guidance to achieve their goals.
