Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has flagged off the construction of a 179-kilometre rural and agricultural marketing access (RAMA) road project.

According to him, the initiative is to boost food security and employment of farmers in the state.

Represented by the RAMA Project Coordinator, Musa Suleh Damagum, the governor observed: “The construction of this 179-kilometre road commences from Garin Alkali to Mutai and Ngelzarma communities, in Bade, Gujba and Fune Local Government Areas.   The farmer’s access road tagged: ‘The Farmers Green Line (FGL)’, will serve farmers in the three senatorial districts in the state.”

He said the completion of the road project would provide farmers in marketing their produce to boost food security and employment.

Additionally, Buni noted that the programme was part of the state’s 500-kilometre road projects for infrastructural development initiatives in each of the 178 wards.
