Yusuf dreams better Nigeria as Adamawa youths back Tinubu

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State.

The economic straits in the country notwithstanding, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome its challenges. He assured of his administration’s commitment to sustaining good governance and equitable distribution of commonwealth in Kano.

The governor pledged yesterday at a parade to mark the nation’s 64th independence celebration at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano. He said despite daunting economic, and social inequality, insecurity and other challenges, his government would not be deterred to build a better society for the residents.

The governor underlined that the independence anniversary comes with profound thoughts of brave nationalists and forefathers, who fought for the liberation of the nation from the hands of British colonial masters.

RELATEDLY, young persons in Adamawa State under the aegis of “Concerned youths of Adamawa” yesterday took to the streets in a solidarity walk for the Tinubu’s administration.

The convener, Yakubu Umar Girei, at a press briefing shortly after the exercise, said they staged the walk as their contribution to support the laudable policies and programmes of the current administration.

“It is worthy of note to state that the fiscal reforms instituted by this administration are manifesting in economic resurgence, and social welfare improvements across Nigeria in various sectors.

“While the effect of some of the policies can be felt, other critical successes, which cannot be seen or touched, are also contributing immensely to Nigeria’s socio-economic rebirth.

“It is a fact that the Tinubu administration’s economic policies have doubled the aggregate government revenues to over N9.1 trillion and led to a substantial reduction in revenue spent on debt service from 97 per cent to 68 per cent,” he said.
