NYSC DG presents insurance cheques to family of corps member killed by train in Lagos

Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. YD Ahmed, has presented insurance cover cheques to the family of a corps member, Juliana Oreoluwa Aina, who lost her life in a BRT bus that was crushed by a train in Lagos last month.

Ahmed, who spoke with the parents and siblings of the deceased at their home in Abuja, extended the sympathy of the entire management, members of staff and corps members to the family.

He prayed God to avert such ugly incident from the family and other corps members’ families.

The NYSC DG, thereafter, presented two cheques to the family; one from NYSC’s insurance company, Capital Express Assurance Limited and the other from the late corps member’s Health Management Organisation.

Earlier, the scheme’s Director of Corps Welfare and Health Services, Ayodele Omotade Folorunsho, while stating the essence of the visit to the family, said that NYSC had a tradition of presenting cheques to next-of-kins of corps members who lost their lives in the course of national service.

Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, father to the late corps member, Oluwafemi Aina, thanked the DG and his team for identifying with his family in their moment of grief.

He particularly lauded NYSC for its prompt response when the sad event happened.
