The Association of Lady Pharmacists (ALP) has said that members have critical roles to play in improving healthcare delivery and realisation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking on the forthcoming 16th Biennial conference of the association themed: ‘Making Healthcare Impacts in Tandem with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030′ billed for Benin City, Edo State, ALP National Chairman, Scholastica Ian, noted that the country is plagued with a high burden of healthcare needs, adding that the healthcare delivery is dependent on the quality of pharmaceutical products and commodities.

Ian noted that the adoption of the Agenda 2030 for SDGs would provide new opportunities for healthy outcomes for the government and society.

Also speaking, the Chairman planning committee, Dr Rametu Momodu emphasised that the conference would serve as a dynamic platform to foster an environment where socialisation will flourish organically.

She stated that this year’s theme underscores the pivotal role that pharmacists play in shaping the future of healthcare while contributing to global sustainability goals.

She said: “It’s more than just a gathering; it’s a melting pot of ideas, experiences, and perspectives, where professionals come together to engage in meaningful conversations and forge lasting connections that transcend geographical boundaries.”

Momodu explained that the conference theme emphasises the essence of embracing change and innovation, recognising challenges as opportunities for growth, and promoting innovation, a fertile ground for creativity that can be created to thrive.
