The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has faulted the statement of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, that Nigerians will vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 polls.

The lawmaker maintained that Kwankwaso lacks the morality to speak for the people of the North, adding that his assertion was only a whimsical statement applicable to himself.

Kwankwaso while speaking at a political gathering in Kano, on Thursday, said Nigerians, especially northerners, were tired of the APC and would vote against it in the 2027 presidential election.

But Doguwa, in a statement on Friday said Kwankwaso was yet to recover from the defeat he suffered at the hands of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.

He added that the NNPP national leader was hallucinating about what will happen in 2027.  He further said Kwankwaso should stop the hallucinations and face his imminent retirement from the political scene in 2027.

Doguwa said Tinubu took over the mantle of leadership in the country 16 months ago when the economy was in a terrible shape in all spheres. He said that since assuming office on May 29, 2023, Tinubu has been working genuinely to correct the fiscal misalignments and the bane of the country’s economic downturn.

He expressed optimism that in a few months time, the hardship being faced in the country will fizzle out as the president’s numerous interventions bear fruits.
