A prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has urged President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to alleviate the hardship faced by Nigerians.

In a statement released in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye said the severe suffering many Nigerians are enduring and called for the President to implement strategies that provide rapid relief.

He acknowledged Tinubu’s ongoing efforts but stressed the need for a quicker response, particularly in light of economic difficulties exacerbated by rising fuel prices.

“There is no doubt that the President is working hard to ease the suffering of the masses, but a more rapid approach is necessary,” Oyintiloye stated.

“The President should remove any bureaucratic obstacles hindering the swift implementation of policies that benefit the people. The current economic hardship is becoming unbearable, and urgent action is required.”

Oyintiloye also voiced concern over the delay in implementing the President’s directive to suspend customs duties and taxes on imported food items, which was announced two months ago as a measure to combat rising food inflation.

He urged for the immediate completion of the guidelines for this policy, hoping it would lower food prices without negatively impacting local production.

He urged those involved in drafting the guidelines to expedite the process and reassured Nigerians that while some policies may seem painful now, they are expected to bring significant long-term benefits.

Oyintiloye called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Tinubu, noting that the short-term challenges are necessary for achieving future gains.
