Senator Ita Enang has said that Akwa Ibom State is All Progressives Congress (APC)-dominated but controlled by a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government, bragging that his party will justify the perception by beating PDP in the October 5 local council elections in the state.

Enang, yesterday, in Uyo, highlighted the preparedness of the APC ahead of the council polls with the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, leading the flag off of its campaigns for the council election today at Ikot Ekpene.
Enang said: “We (APC Akwa Ibom) are confident that with President Bola Tinubu having taken the bold step of ensuring the autonomy of local councils and having rescued the councils from the claws of the state governments, we are going to contest and win the election in all 31 councils in Akwa Ibom.

The Senator noted that the APC is more than ready, stressing that Akwa Ibom is APC, and will display its majority, strength and capacity in the forthcoming council elections.

The ex-lawmaker added that although APC does not trust the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC), Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, the party believes the governor will ensure that the umpire conducts a free and fair election and the best candidates emerge winners.
