Kareem joins APC in Oyo

Reps’ member says party will produce Makinde’s successor

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, yesterday, received a major boost as Dr Adewale Kareem, popularly known as AKK, formally joined the party.

Kareem, accompanied by members of his support group, was received into the party at a carnival-like ceremony held at the APC Secretariat in Ibadan.
In his remark, Kareem expressed gratitude to the leadership of the APC and members for the warm reception.

He said that his decision to join the party was borne out of a genuine desire to serve the people of Oyo State, noting that the APC’s progressive agenda aligns with his vision for inclusive development, educational empowerment and sustainable growth.

Meanwhile, the state Chairman of the party, Olayide Abas, in his message through the State Secretary, Tajudeen Olanite, commended Kareem for taking the bold step to join the party.

RELATEDLY, a member of the House of Representatives from Oyo State, Aderemi Oseni, has declared that the APC will produce Governor Seyi Makinde’s successor in 2027.Oseni, representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency of the state, said the APC would not remain in the opposition in 2027.

He blamed the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for its failure to attract federal projects, as well as providing programmes and partnerships vital for progress and development.

Oseni, who spoke in Ibadan while addressing leaders of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF) in the 33 local councils and wards in the state, stated that the state is currently facing the consequences of being on the political sidelines. He, however, expressed optimism that the APC would produce the next governor of the state to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
