Ondo Election: I’ll accept defeat if… – Aiyedatiwa

The candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the ongoing Ondo State Governorship election, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said he will accept the outcome of the election even if it means defeat.

He also urged citizens to accept the outcome of the election while commending them for the voter turnout recorded and their peaceful conduct.

Aiyedatiwa, who cast his vote in Unit 03 Ward 4 of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State on Saturday, said he would only dispute the outcome if irregularities led to his loss.

“If it doesn’t favour my party, as long as we did not receive any incident that is fraudulent in any way, why not? We will accept,” he said.

Speaking about the exercise so far, the governor said it has been peaceful based on information at his disposal.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for making the process smooth, adding that it didn’t take him long to cast his vote.

He said the commission has been very transparent with the whole process, just as he commended security agents for the peace so far.
