Pro-Tinubu group pledges grassroots mobilisation, congratulates Yilwatda

A political support group aligned with President Bola Tinubu has pledged to deliver at least 10 million votes in the 2027 general elections, following the appointment of Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PBAT Door-2-Door Movement, in a statement on Thursday, welcomed Yilwatda’s emergence, describing it as a strategic step in the party’s repositioning ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Led by National Chairman Sunday Adekanbi and backed by prominent figure High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (also known as Tompolo), the group vowed to intensify grassroots mobilisation across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

“The appointment of Prof. Yilwatda signals a renewed commitment to party discipline, strategic leadership, and grassroots engagement. We fully align ourselves with this direction and are ready to mobilise nationwide,” the statement said.

The movement outlined a broad campaign strategy, which includes door-to-door voter education, town hall meetings, and partnerships with traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil society organisations. The campaign will also target youth and women through empowerment initiatives.

While reaffirming support for President Tinubu, the group credited his administration with key economic reforms. These include a reported increase in government revenue to ₦9.1 trillion, reduction in debt service-to-revenue ratio, and efforts to clear outstanding liabilities.

Also cited were job creation schemes through small business support, tax reforms, and regional diplomatic engagements in West Africa under Tinubu’s leadership as ECOWAS chair.
The group described the President’s performance so far as “transformative,” and pushed back against critics of the administration, saying the campaign would also focus on countering misinformation about government policies.

Yilwatda’s appointment as APC chairman comes amid internal party restructuring as the ruling party prepares for the 2027 elections. His leadership is expected to play a central role in shaping party strategy and managing national outreach efforts.
