
Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2024 Edo State governorship election, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has expressed shock over the kidnap of the state Chairman of the PDP, Dr Tony Aziegbemi.
In a statement on Sunday, Ighodalo described the development as extremely shocking and distressing. He said: “The news of the kidnapping of Edo State Chairman of PDP, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, on Friday night, was extremely shocking and distressing.
“I strongly condemn this dastardly act, and my heart goes out to the Aziegbemi family at this very trying time. I join the family in offering fervent prayers for his safe return.”
Ighodalo urged security agencies to spare no effort in ensuring the release of the chairman, charging them with “investigating the matter and working assiduously for our dear party chairman’s safe release.”
