Women group supports Sandy Onor as C’River gov

Senator Sandy Onor

IKOM Women Mandate has vowed to support the Cross River State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator Sandy Onor. The group made their position known, yesterday, during an interactive session with newsmen in Ikom Council of the state.

The leader, Mrs. Nchajeno Owan, explained that the decision was taken after going through Onor’s track record of commitment to women, especially widows. She also said their decision was influenced by the fact Onor chose a woman as his deputy.

The group, according to her, will mobilise women from all the creeks of Bakassi to the hills of Obanliku for Onor and his Deputy, Emana Ambrose-Amawhe, to take over the leadership mantle of the state.

“Sandy’s love for widows is one of the attributes that endeared me to him.

“The crowd of women you see here are not the hired or rented crowd but women of substance, who, by all indications, had shown commitment in the project Sandy.

“We are not like others, who parade themselves with hired crowd. Ours is made up of women of integrity and proven record, who are passionately willing to go extra length to ensure that Sandy emerge as state governor.”

Speaking earlier, the state PDP women Leader, Mrs Florence Inyang, who represented the deputy candidate, charged the women to work together in ensuring that come 2023 governorship election, Onor emerged as the state governor.
