RCCG honoured by CIPM for pioneering HR excellence in faith-based organisations

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) has awarded the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for its outstanding achievements in professionalizing human resource (HR) practices, marking a significant milestone as the first faith-based organization to do so. The prestigious award ceremony was held at the Eko Hotels and Suites on May 3, 2024.

The award was received by Pastor Olurotimi Vincent Adegborioye, on behalf of Prof. Oladele Balogun, Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration. Prof. Balogun conveyed gratitude towards CIPM for the honour and lauded Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, RCCG’s General Overseer, whose commitment to excellence has notably elevated the organization’s administrative and human resource standards.

“This award is a testament to our General Overseer’s foresight and steadfast dedication to professional and Christ-centered work environment,” said Prof. Balogun. “We are profoundly grateful for his guidance and thrilled that this recognition will inspire other faith-based organizations to pursue excellence in their HR practices.”

The ceremony also recognized other individuals and corporations for their contributions to the HR field, including Pastor Olurotimi Vincent Adegborioye, who played a critical role in pioneering the professionalization of the HR and Admin cadre within RCCG. Today, the church boasts hundreds of CIPM certified HR professionals thanks to his efforts.

Additional honourees included the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; business magnates Asiwaju Solomon Oladunni and Mr. Osagie Okunbor; as well as corporate giants such as Shell, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, MTN, TotalEnergies, and Nigerian Breweries Plc.

Speaking to journalists after the event, Engr. Sean Olabode Badiru, Chairman of Ogun State Branch of the CIPM, lauded the institute for recognizing individuals and organizations that significantly contribute to the advancement of HR practices in Nigeria. “This award not only celebrates achievements but also sets benchmarks for excellence, motivating the industry to embrace innovation and best practices,” he stated.

The recognition of RCCG by CIPM underscores the growing trend of professionalizing administration in sectors not traditionally associated with corporate governance, signaling a shift towards more structured and strategic management within various organizations across Nigeria.
