Chike caps year with Mohbad-featured Egwu
Pop and R&B star, Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known by his stage Chike, has remained resolute in creating songs that appeal to his distinctive audience, and as the year 2023 draws its curtain, the singer, songwriter and actor is wrapping up the year with a unique song, titled, Egwu, featuring the late street pop star, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, well known as Mohbad, which embodies his artistic spirit.
Produced by DeeYasso, notable for seductive House Music production, the song is a joyful celebration of music’s unbridled spirit, with Mohbad’s distinctive vocals declaring, “music needs no permission to enter your spirit.”
Egwu, in Igbo, means dance, and Chike, in collaboration with Mohbad, aka Imole, skillfully combines Igbo, English and Pidgin to create a singular, culturally proud experience, with Mohbad paying homage to his roots, infusing the track with his distinctive baritone.
