Over the weekend, Sofia Richie and music producer Elliott Grainge tied the knot in the South of France. The bride opted for a trio of bespoke Chanel gowns, each one befitting a fairy-tale wedding.
For her walk down the aisle, the media personality donned a lace gown embellished with intricate details and a criss-cross neckline. The design took inspiration from a look featured in the spring/summer 2023 collection but was modified with bridal touches and unique elements.
The dress incorporated the couple’s initials and wedding date as ‘something blue,’ sewn discreetly into the inner lining. The lace also had a heart-shaped pattern in the center of her chest, and another one below, representing their love. Along with a dramatic veil, Richie accessorized with an elegant updo and diamond earrings.
Afterwards, the bride swapped her attire for a more fitting party ensemble, donning a mini-dress that took inspiration from a Nineties Chanel design modeled by Claudia Schiffer on the runway. The structured dress showcased the iconic camellia flower, a signature of the Chanel brand. She completed the look with low-heeled white shoes, perfect for dancing the night away.
Richie’s third custom-made Chanel dress was for the rehearsal dinner held the night before her wedding, and it was equally exquisite. The ankle-length gown boasted sleeves, a high neck, and a fringed overlay skirt, embellished with stunning white beading. It took inspiration from a dress showcased by Stella Tennant in the autumn/winter 1997 couture fashion show.
In Antibes, the joyous couple exchanged their vows in front of a notable gathering of stars, including Richie’s renowned family members, such as her father, Lionel Richie, and her sister, Nicole Richie, along with A-listers like Cameron Diaz and Paris Hilton.
The guests enthusiastically shared numerous photos on their social media accounts, expressing their elation for the faultless ceremony and the couple’s unification. On her recently created TikTok account, Richie revealed her new double-barrelled surname and shared various videos from her wedding weekend, including clips of her getting ready for the big day.
