• As Troops Kill Two Bandits In Gun Battle, Others Injured
As soldiers intensify efforts to rid Kaduna State of terrorism, troops of Operation Thunder Strike reportedly killed two armed bandits during a night ambush operation along Gwagwada-Chikun Road in Chikun Local Council.

Both military and police also stretched their dragnets to forests, as they continue to hunt for kidnappers, who abducted students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka.

Besides, the State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan in a statement, yesterday, said: “According to operational feedback, troops set an opportunity ambush along the route in anticipation of bandits’ movement. The bandits approached on two motorcycles. There was exchange of gunshots. The bandits were overwhelmed. Two of them were neutralised by the troops. Items recovered from the scene included one body, one motorcycle, one locally-made rifle, a mobile phone and some wraps of Indian hemp.”

Governor Nasir El-Rufai congratulated the troops for the successful operation, while praising their pro-active disposition.

Aruwan urged citizens to report any persons seeking medical attention for suspicious injuries in the area to the Kaduna State Security Operations Room.
