Super Eagles head coach, Austin Eguavoen, has unveiled his 23-man squad for the upcoming Group D matchday five and six fixtures of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Rwanda and Benin Republic.

The list was published on the Super Eagles’ X handle on Wednesday. Among the players invited are Victor Osimhen and Umar Sadiq, who both make their return, alongside Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Wilfred Ndidi.

Other notable players include Frank Onyeka, Ola Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, William Troost-Ekong, Stanley Nwabali, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Alhassan Yusuf, Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, Victor Collins, and former Luton Town defender Gabriel Osho, now with Ligue 1 club Auxerre.

The Super Eagles are set to travel to Abidjan, CĂ´te d’Ivoire, to face Benin Republic on November 14 for matchday five. Then, they will host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo later in November.

In their first meeting in the qualifiers, the Super Eagles defeated Benin Republic 3-0 before playing to a 0-0 draw with Rwanda in Kigali.

During the fourth matchday of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June, Benin Republic came from a goal down to beat the Super Eagles 2-1 in Abidjan.

Currently, the Super Eagles lead Group D with 10 points and need just one more point to confirm their qualification for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

The three-time AFCON champions were awarded three points and three goals by CAF’s Disciplinary Board after being delayed for over 10 hours at an airport by Libyan authorities. Additionally, Libya’s Football Federation was fined $50,000, a decision that has since been appealed.
