Plumptre wins October player, goal of the month award in Saudi Arabia women’s league
Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has won both October Player of the Month awards in the Saudi Arabia women’s Premier League.
Plumptre beat two other nominees to land the individual award.
She polled 53.5 per cent to finish first, the runner-up got 40.8 per cent while the third-placed player had 5.7 per cent.
Plumptre being named Player of the Month did not come as a surprise, as she bagged a hat-trick in her debut game for Al Ittihad, who beat Eastern Flame 3-0 in the league opener in October.
It is a double celebration for her as she also won last month’s Goal of the Month award.
Plumptre did not feature for the Super Falcons in their Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifier against Ethiopia.
The Falcons won the second leg 4-0 to advance into the next round on 5-1 aggregate.
Plumptre joined Al Ittihad after her contract at hometown club Leicester expired on July 13, 2023.
