OGC Nice striker, Terem Moffi, has been declared not doubtful to take part in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.

Moffi was earlier reported to be a huge doubt for the tournament due to a hamstring injury that he sustained on Saturday.

However, the striker will resume full training this week contrary to speculations that he has suffered a hamstring injury that could keep him out of the AFCON.

“Nursing a minor injury and missing the Le Havre game was only a precaution,” a report by ScoreNigeria said.

Moffi was on course to feature in Nice’s 3-1 loss to Le Havre in a Ligue 1 tie at the Stade Oceane but his club confirmed his hamstring injury on X hours before the game.

Meanwhile, Nice head coach, Francesco Farioli appeared before the media to discuss the club’s setback against Le Havre on Saturday.

He said during the last training they had two problems with the Super Eagles attacker.

“For Moffi, it was a small muscle problem. We had put him in the group because we had hope but the problem was confirmed so he stayed in Nice to train and recover.”
