BetKing launches street football game ‘JJ BallX’, unveils ₦5m promo campaign

BetKing has unveiled a new street football-themed crash casino game, JJ BallX, developed in collaboration with former Nigerian international footballer Jay-Jay Okocha.

The launch event, held Tuesday at BetKing’s Astroturf venue, featured brand ambassadors including Okocha, actor Tobi Bakare, and comedian Mr Shaggy.

To mark the introduction of JJ BallX, BetKing announced a ₦5 million promotional campaign running from May 6 to June 6, 2025. According to the company, 50 participants will be randomly selected to receive ₦100,000 cashback each. Eligibility requires a cumulative stake of ₦5,000 on the JJ BallX game within the promo window. Terms and conditions apply.

Speaking at the event, Okocha said: “JJ BallX is a celebration of the vibrancy and talent inherent in street football, something that is very close to my heart. By attempting this record, we hope to bring together thousands of people, uniting in our shared passion for the beautiful game and creating a memorable moment in football history.”

BetKing’s Head of Marketing, Nengi Akinola, highlighted the significance of the new launch: “Today, we are not just launching a game; we are igniting a movement. JJ BallX is about more than just football; it’s about connecting with our culture, celebrating our heroes, and making history together. We are proud to partner with Jay-Jay Okocha on this venture and cannot wait to see thousands of fans come together for this amazing event.”

JJ BallX is designed to reflect Nigeria’s street football culture. The gameplay features visuals inspired by local street scenes and a central character named “JJ,” modelled after Okocha. The company says the game is intended to provide an engaging and relatable experience for players.

As part of the broader campaign, BetKing announced plans to attempt a Guinness World Record in June 2025 for the highest number of people keeping a football in the air simultaneously. The event will be led by Okocha and is expected to include 2,000 participants.
